What do I do if I have a span of over 170 cm? (67 inch)
Answer:
By making a so called double-up e.g. 5 or 10 cm of
Styrofoam at each side a span of up to 190 cm can easily be created. With wider
arches we recommend the use of the extra module 1340.
Question:
How can I make an arch for a window with this long pole ?
Answer:
When making a window the parapet has to be made after the arch
Question:
The Multiarc arch mold often gets
covered in mortar.
Answer:
Before you start laying the bricks cover the
Multiarc with plastic film.
Question:
Can I use the Multiarc as a mold for concrete arches?
Answer:
The Multiarc arch mold can hold 320kg/m2 without
support. But for concrete arches we recommend you to use the Multiarc as a
horizontal mould for precast which are placed on site with a crane.
Question:
What do the fat printed numbers in the
basket arch chart mean?
Answer:
The fat printed numbers in the chart are ment to
be of the ideal basket arch forms. All heights outside the fat numbers are
either too flat or too steep.
Question:
The measures on the inside of the elastic
band are not on a 10 cm scale. Why?
Answer:
The scale on the elastic band is not a metric
measure but the result of the perimeter formula.
Question:
Does it pay off to use the Multiarc as a
shape for dry walls as well?
Answer:
Yes, except with circular shapes. Every basket
arch with a span between 70 and 170 cm is made within 5 minutes. It is also
very easy make changes without loss of material.When you think about how long
a carpenter needs to draw the shape the advantage is obvious.

Can I use the elastic band without the
device itself?
Answer:
Principally yes, but when removing
the band (e.g. after forming terrasses or garden paths) it is important to take
care that the band is not damaged by screws or nails as this can change its
inner tension

The width of 20 cm can be used for practically
every wall thickness. If the wall will be thicker than 20 cm you will have
to put the Multiarc in the middle of the wall in order for the bricks to
protrude on both sides of the band ( at a width of 38 cm that is 9 cm on each
side).
